Parkinson is a southern suburb of Brisbane covering approx. 8km² and located approximately 19km (30 min drive) from the CBD. It is a newly developed suburb which is so very close to the Logan and Gateway Motorway’s.
Parkinson has established itself as a modern, family friendly suburb with a population of 9,269 according to the 2006 Australian Census which showed an 80% growth from the 2001 period. It offers several parks, walking and bike paths as well as the popular Lakewood Estate parklands, perfect for the family picnic.
The area offers several amenities including Child care centre, Parkinson Plaza Shopping Centre with IGA, Calamvale Marketplace Shopping Centre with Woolworths and access to major roads and arterials. There is also a frequent city bus service that services Parkinson – Route 130.
