Calamvale is a suburb of the Brisbane City Council covering an area of approximately 7.1km². It is a well serviced and very established suburb with close proximity to Beaudesert Road and the Logan & Gateway Motorways. Calamvale is located only 20km (approx) south of the Brisbane CBD. The suburb of Calamvale also offers many parks covering nearly 1% of the total area and is only a few minutes drive to the protected Karawatha Forest. The Calamvale District Park is the area’s most prominent park with many new & upgraded facilities.

The Calamvale area has seen an astounding population growth of 61.8% since 2006.  As of 2011 the population of Calamvale was 15, 291 (2011 Census).  The predominate age group is 25-44 years and common nationalities include Chinese, Australian and New Zealanders. Households are primarily married couples with children and are likely to be repaying $2,000 per month on mortgage repayments, while the median rent in Calamvale is $375.00 per week.

Although there a no train stations in Calamvale, frequent public bus transport services the Calamvale area – Route 150, Route 140.
